about

d’ros house

Set between the hills, the sea, and a paddy field that runs to the shore, D’Ros House is built from the earth it stands on.

Built with a focus on natural materials and a grounded approach to design, the property reflects the founders’ intention to offer an environment that feels warm, balanced, and in harmony with its surroundings.

the

design

omah tanah.

D’Ros was designed by Indonesian architect Budi Pradono using his Omah Tanah concept, where compacted soil forms the main structure of the building.

The thick earthen walls regulate indoor temperature without artificial insulation, keeping interiors calm, breathable, and comfortable even in intense coastal heat. Here, sustainability isn’t an add-on — it is the architecture.

Indonesian Architect
— Budi Pradono

Indonesian architect Budi Pradono, whose work often bridges contemporary form with local tradition, designed D’Ros to rise gently from the land. Instead of imposing on the landscape, the house becomes part of it.

Through his Omah Tanah approach, the villa maintains natural thermal comfort, encourages clean, breathable air, and creates a serene environment where guests can unwind in complete ease.

the

founder

minds and hearts
behind the house.

Founded by Douglas and Rossa, a couple who fell in love with the quiet beauty of Pantai Lodji. They imagined a place where guests could experience the area’s unique landscape — rice fields flowing toward the sea, wide ocean views, and gentle hills framing the horizon.

The Founder — Douglas & Rossa

Through patience, experimentation, and care, they transformed humble soil into a living space that welcomes everyone seeking warmth, reflection, and peace.

the

vision

seamless experience.

D’Ros House was built to offer a stay that feels honest, quiet, and connected to nature. The architecture supports well-being, the landscape sets the rhythm, and guests can slow down without feeling removed from the world. It’s a home that honors the land and gives visitors space to breathe and reconnect.

Let the walls of clay and wood remind you how peaceful a simple space can feel.
